Visit to Windermere

Jeff and i drove down to Windermere to visit his parents and sister and neice a few weekends ago. my parents were there too! the only picture i took was this one. Kathy and me and jeff took a nice long walk on Sunday and talked and talked. more pictures next time.

Toe Nail Clipping

jeff decided to take my picture while i was clipping his toenails.

romantic huh?

Second Sail

we went on one more sail while we were there. this one was much more windy grandpa reefed the sails (correct term?) and we went pretty fast! didn't take the camera that day b/c i was afraid i might drop it in the water.

Sailing the Eagle

sailing is fun!

me and deeds.

this was a really peaceful sail. I actually fell asleep on the bow at one point. almost did fall off then. but i woke up after one leg hit the water.

donna and grandpa sailing. i'm standing up on the bow holding the camera high in the air trying to balance on the edge of the boat hanging onto a very thin line. I think grandpa is hoping i don't fall into the water.

the Perquimans River. the bridge.

the dock.

from the eagle: the row boat. the house. the river.

Peanut Run

Donna did a 5k and won it while we were in Hertford. This was the first race grandma and pa had ever seen her in and we had a great time! For the rest of our visit, we enjoyed "first place peanuts" as a snack or in our ice cream :)

finish line!

The Farm House

While we were in North Carolina, i walked out to the farm one day. This is the house where my grandpa and great Uncle Wallace grew up. It's about three miles from where my grandparents live now, in the bustling metropolis of Hertford. This first picture is one of the roads on the way to the farm.

cotton field on the way to the farm.

this is on the farm road. you can see the methodist church right across the road from the house, and then the house and red barn a little further down.

There's grandpa walking between the red barn and the smoke house.

the house. isn't it picturesque?

The dining room (kitchen is at the back, living room is where i'm standing taking the picture)

Dead Garr

Visit to Grandma and pa Reed's

Right after I finished working at Breakthru House (and i mean directly after: i finished work on Tuesday night around 7pm and we hit the road on Wednesday morning Oct. 1st at about 7 am!) we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Reed in Hertford, NC. We had such a great time! Here they are getting ready to go to cotillion. Spring chickens!

Donna and Grandpa go on a walk.

My Kitchen

took these pictures to show my grandparents so they could see what our

house looks like. Donna was kind enough to be the model for the space. She is classy isn't she?

here's the front of our house.

Garden Pictures...recent (as of Oct.1)

Okay, i'm finally catching up. Here are some really recent garden pictures.

full shot. with doggies.

my little flower corner

the herb pot that mom made me.

the herb bed, oh, there's also peppers in there. we'll see if i actually get to harvest them.

brocolli, garlic, strawberry spinach (very tiny yet).

beets, carrots, and some experimental okra (wishful thinking i know, but i got excited).

my succulents are doing great. but i think it might be time to bring them in now. i want more of them!

one more green bean harvest.

and some basil and 2 little cherry tomatos! oh, and i think that's a little chard as well. and some arugala.

Adventure Race at Tallulah Gorge

Donna and her friends Zach and Kevin did a 14 hour adventure race in September and jeff and

i were their support team. Here's donna striking a pose before the surprise swim at the beginning of the race started. then came canoeing, treking, repelling, hiking, mountain biking and navigating. sheesh.
